Gerard or Gerard de Lairesse (11 September 1640 or 1641 - June 1711) was a Dutch Golden Age painter and art theorist. Lairesse was born in Liege. His broad range of talent included music, poetry, and the theatre. He was perhaps the most celebrated Dutch painter in the period following the death of Rembrandt. His treatises on painting and drawing, Grondlegginge der teekenkonst (1701) and Groot Schilderboek (1707), were highly influential on 18th-Century painters like Jacob de Wit. Students of De Lairesse included the painter Jan van Mieris. Aelbert Cuyp
1620-1691 Dutch Aelbert Cuyp Locations Painter and draughtsman, son of Jacob Cuyp. One of the most important landscape painters of 17th-century Netherlands, he combined a wide range of sources and influences, most notably in the application of lighting effects derived from Italianate painting to typical Dutch subjects. Such traditional themes as townscapes, winter scenes, cattle pieces and equestrian portraits were stylistically transformed and given new grandeur. Aelbert was virtually unknown outside his native town, and his influence in the 17th century was negligible. He became popular in the late 18th century, especially in England.

(efter 1912 Alfven), född Triepcke 11 juni 1867 i Köpenhamn, död 25 maj 1940 i Stockholm, var en dansk konstnär, bosatt i Sverige från cirka 1905. Marie Krøyer var 1889-1905 gift med konstnären Peder Severin Krøyer och hamnade i skuggan av hans konstnärskap. Själv kom hon att uppmärksammas som konstnär långt efter sin död. Hon levde ihop med den svenske tonsättaren Hugo Alfv??n från 1905 då de fick dottern Margita tillsammans; de gifte sig 1912 och skildes 1936 efter en lång rättsprocess. Paret var bosatta i Uppsala och Leksand. Marie hade också dottern Vibeke med Krøyer.
